Day of Mindfulness. Open Meditation Day on Saturday, 20th of June 2026
Welcome!
As part of this year’s Vesak Season Program of the Buddhist Monastery Bodhi Vihara, we warmly invite all interested people, regardless of their worldview or background, to a Day of Mindfulness and Meditation.
Theme
The day focuses on mindfulness in its four foundations.
Participants will practise step by step to consciously direct their attention to four areas:
- the body
- feelings
- the mind
•mental phenomena
The day follows the classical Buddhist mindfulness practice according to the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta (MN 10): clearly perceiving one’s own experience without getting lost in it, while developing greater calm, insight, and inner concentration.
The concluding Peace Prayer connects this personal practice with compassion and the sincere wish for peace in the world.

Languages: German, English or Sinhalese. Smaller groups or workshops will be formed if needed.
Note: Refreshments and drinks are provided. No food is served, as we observe the day mindfully according to the Eight Precepts and fast after lunch.
